A lot of awesome people are needed to make awesome beer, and we have some of the awesome-est!

Bearded or not, BIG BEARD does not exist without these people!

Founder:  JOE

Joe was introduced to home brewing when he was 18 in the wilds of Australia.  His Computer Teacher was an avid home brewer, and on his last day of school, called Joe into the office and gave him a bottle of home brew.    This teacher inspired Joe, all those years ago that he could also brew beer.   To this day that bottle sits in a position of honor in the Brewery,

Joe founded BIG BEARD with the goal to  brew the best beer on the planet.

Equipment/Construction:  PAT

Pat is the earliest supporter of BIG BEARD.  He used to ferment his own wine.  When Joe expressed interest in home brewing, Pat did not hesitate to offer his equipment.  Without this initial loan, BIG BEARD may not exist today!  After trying the first couple beers BIG BEARD brewed, he demanded they keep the equipment.  To this day BIG BEARD is produced using his old equipment!

He also continues to support BIG BEARD through his mad awesome engineering/construction/mechanical skills!

Assistant Brewer/Supporter: JOEL

Joel is a true fan of fine ales, which means he loves BIG BEARD!

Joel lives on the campus of BIG BEARD and is always happy to help out with a brew session, offer ideas, maintain and share equipment and inspire recipes!  Now, if we could only get him  to grow that beard out a bit longer!

Assistant Brewer/Supporter: JON

Jon is our scientific analyst and problem solver.  Too much carbonation in your keg?  Call Jon.  How do you get the best heat transfer from your chiller?  Jon knows.  What is the most efficient way to wash and fill bottles?  Jon has an answer.   Jon also helps make sure we never have too much beer in storage, so there is always room to make more beer.

Equipment/Support:  The Ready Boys

True lovers of beer and the creation process, Ed and Frank have been supporters of BIG BEARD from the beginning, always pushing our brewer to get bigger and better!
